This Andalusian town is located on the Costa del Sol on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea and at the foot of the Almijara and Tejeda mountains.
The origins of this settlement (which was initially called Caviclum) are thought to date back to the first-fifth centuries when it emerged as a Roman city that was highly valued due to the production of silk.
Today, it is one of the most relevant tourist destinations on the Costa del Sol thanks to its proximity to the city of Malaga (52 kilometres) and its 9 kilometres of wonderful beaches, including El Morche, Torcasol, Ferrara and Peñoncillo.

As is customary in all Andalusian towns, the gastronomy culture in Torrox is rich and varied.
The star dish here is "migas", which is a breadcrumb dish that even has a public holiday dedicated to it in the town. On this day, portions of this delicious dish are shared out to anyone wishing to join the festivities. This is all in addition to the Roman Baths that date back to around the 1st or 2nd century A.D., the Roman Ceramic Ovens from the 1st century A.D., the necropolis from the 6th century, and the Caviclum (Roman villa) that shares one of the most important archaeological sites in the Province of Malaga.
